Elegant Design

The 2020 Avalon has an entirely new trim option and some of Toyota’s most advanced safety features. This sedan underwent a complete redesign for the 2019 model year, so there aren’t any major changes to the exterior. Every Toyota Avalon comes standard with LED lighting, heated outboard mirrors and a minimum of 17-inch painted alloy wheels.

The new 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD model has unique LED reflector headlights surrounded by smoked chrome bezels and LED taillights. The front grille, rear spoiler, heated power outside mirrors, window trim and front splitters are piano-black. The TRD has matte black 19-inch wheels and bright red TRD track-tuned front and rear coil springs.

Daring Performance and Economy

The 2020 Toyota Avalon has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an eight-speed transmission and a front-wheel drive system. An optional adaptive suspension system increases already adequate handling. The sedan navigates well in stop-and-go traffic with enough power to effectively pass slower vehicles on the highway and keep you comfortable during steady higher-speed driving situations.

The gasoline-powered XLE trim gets an EPA-estimated 22 MPG in town and 32 MPG on the highway. The TRD also gets 22 MPG in town but it loses a bit on the highway with 31 MPG.

With the 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 44 city/highway combined MPG. It has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder ECVT Hybrid engine. Additionally, the hybrid version of the 2020 Toyota Avalon is a Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV).

Acclaimed Safety

All 2020 Toyota Avalon vehicles come standard with Toyota Safety Sense™. This bundle of features is available across many Toyota vehicles. It includes dynamic radar cruise control that uses a windshield camera to help maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. Lane departure alert alerts the driver when the Toyota leaves the lane unintentionally. Automatic high beams helps drivers use headlights optimally by using in-vehicle cameras to respond to headlights of oncoming vehicles

The 2020 Toyota Avalon received the Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) with top ratings in crash testing.

Blindspot monitoring, 10 airbags and stability control are also standard safety features with every Toyota Avalon. An optional Advanced Safety Package with the Touring and Limited trims adds rear cross-traffic mitigation and a 360-degree bird’s eye view camera.

Cutting-Edge Technology

The standard Audio Plus technology package includes eight speakers with a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay®, Scout GPS Link and Bluetooth® wireless technology with hands-free phone capability are also standard.

You’ll get a three-month All-Access trial of SiriusXM® and a three-year trial of Safety Connect and Service connect.

Optional technology upgrades include a premium audio system with dynamic navigation, a six-month trial of Verizon’s Wi-Fi Connect. You can also choose to add Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging with a power tilt/slide moonroof as an addition to the base XLE and TRD off-road Avalon.

Several Trim Options

With the 2020 Toyota Avalon, you have several options for trim levels; the base XLE option with either the gasoline or hybrid engine, the XSE with gasoline or hybrid engine, TRD off-road trim, Touring trim or Limited trim with gasoline or hybrid engine.

Standard features with the XSE trim include 19-inch alloy wheels, aluminum pedal covers and front seats with suede inserts. With the Avalon Touring model, active noise control, an adaptive suspension system with driving modes and engine sound enhancement are standard. You can choose to add the Advanced Safety Package.

The Limited trim is full of luxury perks like genuine wood accents inside the cabin, ambient lighting, leather seats, a heated steering wheel and rear seats, progressive turn signals and a 10-inch head-up display.
